You Are Not Forgotten

I have occasionally been in ministry situations where God has seemingly forgotten me. A gifted prophetic ministry passed through and everyone else received amazing prophecies. There was an outpouring of impartation and everyone else received a special touch from God. On some occasions, I have felt like the only one excluded from all the fun! These times will test your spiritual security.

Most of us have experienced a degree of personal rejection in our lives. Unhealed, we impose our conditioned expectation for rejection on God. The song says, “Jesus loves me this I know because the Bible tells me so,” but in honesty, many have not yet settled on the reality of His unshakeable love. It’s a theory that has not yet healed us. This uncertainty of His love positions us for a spiritually insecure relationship with God.

When we feel bypassed during times of corporate blessing, spiritual insecurity screams messages of negativity, rejection, and condemnation into our minds. Instead of caving into spiritual insecurity, let’s embrace a Biblical response:

1.    Meditate on the Father’s love until your heart is convinced! Isaiah 54:10, Romans 5:8 and Ephesians 3:17-19

2.    Understand that delay is not rejection, but an invitation to go deeper. Jeremiah 29:13

3.    Believe that your quest for God will not go unanswered. Hebrews 11:6 and James 4:8

4.    Accept that God’s timing and manner of responding may not line up with your expectations. Joseph’s dreams & Moses’ deliverance of the Israelites.

5.    Don’t get offended by God. That’s a fool’s errand. Job 13:15 “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him.”
